The application of nanotechnologies in the stone industry

Seminar organized by Lucca Intec within the activities of the “Polo Pietre Toscane” project

Brief introduction on nanotechnologies and focus on nanotechnology, with particular attention to possible applications in the stone industry, thanks to the photocatalysis/self-cleaning properties that they are able to induce. Highlights will be supplied on how, as of today, nanotechnologies represent an instrument for innovation in scenarios where there is close integration between industry, research centers and academic spin-offs, capable of transforming university research into applications that are already commercially available today.
