Monuments and memorials to the fallen in the First World War in the Apuan-Versilia area

1915 – 2015: Centennial of World War I. The Apuan-Versilia area and its memorials

In the year that commemorates the Centennial of the First World War, the Consorzio CosMaVe consortium is organizing a convention at MuSA to tell the story of the many memorials located in the surrounding territory. Thanks to the census project and subsequent cataloguing, it was possible to discover more detailed information on the different materials used to build the monuments and the types of marble employed. A specific focus will be supplied on their current state of conservation, testimony of history and of the men and women who gave their lives in the name of loyalty to their country.
