The MuSA opens with its collection
On July 16, MuSA presents to the public its permanent collection, an experiential journey through the marble enterprise of matter, art and narration. A completely new dress of the museum, featuring a permanent collection consisting of two souls:
THE VOICE OF MARMO, an emotional tale that, in a succession of historical and contemporary images, sounds, paintings, quotations and texts from works by famous poets and writers, guides us on a journey rich in suggestions to discover the history of marble processing , The “Marina”, Versilia of the great literate, sculptors, decorators, painters.
CORAGDIAN CAPITANES – SCULPTURE IN PIETRASANTA BETWEEN OTTOCENTO AND NOVECENTO, plaster works from the Museum of the Bozzetti of the Municipality of Pietrasanta and loaned to the Musée. The selection is part of the wider project ‘Museum diffuso’, which proposes in different areas from the museum headquarters theme shows of sketches in order to create closer relations between the works and the territory and to make the collection more widely available.
The inaugural evening will be the occasion for the presentation of the photographic contest MuSA 2016, a thematic art competition on the subject of dear MuSA: territory and matter, artists, businesses, historical and artistic heritage, ancient and contemporary, traditional activities, Uses and customs of the territory.
